Most personal analytics tools focus on work. They track your apps, your code, your commits. But your downtime matters too. How much TV do you watch on weeknights? Do you binge on weekends and feel sluggish on Monday? xeve now answers these questions with Plex integration.
How It Works
xeve connects to your Plex account via PIN-based OAuth — the same flow Plex uses for TV apps. No passwords stored, no API keys to manage. Click "Connect Plex" in your settings, enter the PIN on plex.tv, and you are done.
What makes this integration unique is client-side sync. Most integrations poll a cloud API, but Plex servers are often on your local network. xeve syncs directly from your browser to your LAN server, so your media server stays private and reachable even without remote access configured.
The Watching Page
The new Watching dashboard page shows two things:
- Now Playing — a real-time tracker that shows what you are currently watching across all your Plex clients. It updates live, showing the title, progress, and player.
- Watch History — a timeline of everything you have watched, with metadata like show name, episode title, duration, and when you watched it.
Media Patterns
With enough data, patterns emerge. You might discover that you watch the most TV on Wednesdays, or that late-night binge sessions correlate with less productive mornings. The correlation engine already connects media time with your other tracked metrics.
Why Track Media?
The quantified self is not just about work. Understanding your full day — productive hours, exercise, sleep, and entertainment — gives you a complete picture of how you spend your time. Plex watch history fills the entertainment gap that Spotify listening covers for music.
If you use Plex, connect it today from your xeve settings. Your watch history syncs immediately.
