Spotify integration uses OAuth 2.0 with the user-read-recently-played scope. A Supabase Edge Function polls the Spotify Recently Played API every 30 minutes, deduplicating tracks by played_at timestamp. Data is stored in the spotify_history table with fields for track_name, artist_name, album_name, album_art_url, duration_ms, and played_at. Album art URLs are served directly from Spotify CDN. Token refresh is handled automatically via the refresh_token grant.
Currently xeve supports Spotify only. Apple Music and YouTube Music integrations are planned. Spotify was prioritized because its API provides the most granular listening data.
Spotify API provides your last 50 recently played tracks per poll. xeve polls every 30 minutes, so it captures your full listening history going forward from the moment you connect. Historical data before connecting is not available.
